Transcend Horizons · Sonoma County, California
A sensory-inclusive program for autistic youth in Sonoma County — hands-on stations, credentialed staff, and real respite for the families who never get a break.
Our Commitment
For Autistic Youth · Ages 12–24
Hands-on rotating stations designed by occupational therapy principles — fiber-optic lights, tactile walls, calm-down corners, and interactive sensory play. Built entirely around how their brain works, not how the world expects them to behave.
For Family Caregivers
While your child engages in our sensory program, you get 2–4 hours free — to rest, handle appointments, practice self-care, or simply breathe. Our trained staff provide sensory-conscious, loving care. Your child is safe. You can exhale.
Funded through Regional Center vendorization. Accessible and affordable for families already enrolled with North Bay Regional Center and Southern Nevada Regional Center — no out-of-pocket barrier for qualifying families.
The Sensory Room
Each station is designed by sensory integration principles — not clinical, not sterile. Warm, colorful, and built to invite curiosity. Kids move through at their own pace, guided by staff who understand their world.
Textured surfaces — soft, rough, bumpy, smooth — that invite touch and build sensory tolerance at each child's own pace.
Slow-moving color columns and cascading light strands that calm the nervous system and encourage visual tracking and focus.
Instruments, sound boards, and headphones that let kids explore rhythm and volume on their own terms — no pressure, just play.
A soft, enclosed nook with weighted blankets, noise-dampening walls, and dim lighting — a reset space when the world gets too loud.

How It Works
01
The pilot launches inside an established Sonoma County community partner — a familiar, accessible location families already trust.
02
Every session is supervised by a credentialed program lead and supported by a licensed speech-language pathologist.
03
While their child engages in the sensory room, parents and caregivers have dedicated respite time — no guilt, no waiting in the hall.
04
Small cohorts keep the environment calm and intentional. Families are referred through partner organizations and community outreach.
